CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser: A Quiet Start for Dry Skin

A cleanser sets the tone for everything that follows. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser is made for normal-to-dry skin and takes a low-drama approach: a creamy, non-foaming wash designed to lift away everyday dirt and excess oil without the brisk, squeaky finish of a traditional foaming cleanser.

Why it caught our attention

The formula brings together glycerin and hyaluronic acid, both used to support hydration, with three ceramides—NP, AP and EOP—that CeraVe includes to help maintain the skin barrier. It is also fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. Those details make it an appealing everyday option when comfort matters more than lather.

The best fit

This is likely to suit someone with normal-to-dry skin who prefers a soft, lotion-like cleanse. If you love a rich foam, wear heavy or water-resistant makeup, or want an exfoliating step, its gentle simplicity may feel too restrained. A separate first cleanse may still be useful on makeup-heavy days.

How to use it

Wet the face with lukewarm water, massage the cleanser gently in circular motions, then rinse and pat dry. Follow with moisturiser while the skin still feels comfortable. As with any skincare product, check the current ingredient list on the package and patch-test if your skin is reactive.
